Who am I? I’m a 60-something white female – not that any of that matters. I’ve gone to school, worked, finally got married (I was 57!), instantly became a stepmom to one, a step-grandma to nine. My husband and I have been friends for 41 years, married for 5.5.
I’m educated – maybe too much. You know that saying, “A jack of all trades and a master of none”? Yep, that’s me. I went to Bible college majoring in Christian Education, a medical university majoring in Healthcare Administration with an emphasis in Long-term Care. I finished the coursework, but didn’t do an internship, thus no degree. When I was laid off my last job, I went to a community college and got a certificate in Medical Billing and Coding. But, I got married and never did find a job in that field.
I worked my whole life – not that I wanted to, but because I had to. Most of my life I was a secretary. I hated it. I’m now retired and love every minute of it!
I like to read, do arts and crafts, cook and bake. I have an 18-and-a-half-year-old black cat named Shelby, thus my “handle” (blackkatte). That has become my online identity.
Most importantly, I love God! I grew up in the church and can’t imagine life without Him. The more I read my Bible (every day!), the more I love Him. My desire is that everyone would know and love Him too.
